In 1990 the Houston-Peach branch of the American Association of University Women established the Eleanor Granum Award for Volunteerism to honor Charter Member/First President Eleanor Granum who gave untiringly to the community.  The award seeks to recognize each year a woman or man who continues that volunteer spirit.  This year’s recipient is Kathy Culpepper, manager and part-owner of Fit and Firm Fitness for Women , who contributes in myriad ways through her church, schools, civic organizations, and business.  Margaret Mathews, left, nominated Mrs. Culpepper, Jane Winston, EGA Chair presented her with an engraved clock symbolizing the countless hours she donate to the community, and Eleanor Granum, right, for whom the award is named, took part in the presentation.
